So I've spent 11 days in New Zealand over the holidays. Quite an eventful trip, but not for the entire duration. Christchurch was a snore. They've just recovered from the earthquake and many shops were still under renovations. Not to mention we made reservations to visit a Maori Village but no one picked us up from the backpackers just to find out later that the show was cancelled. And they did not have the courtesy to call and inform us? So I e-mailed their manager to express my dissatisfaction and she gave us quite a huge discount on the next show in Rotorua!
Anyway, here are some pictures from the trip!
Hamilton Botanic Gardens.
This was the Indian Garden (Taj Mahal inspired?)…it was really really beautiful! The flowers were all colorful and pretty :)
Italian Renaissance Garden
Sheep @ Mata Mata Hobbiton (LOTR site)
Fun fact:
NZ population: 4mil
Cars: 6mil
Cows: 8mil
Sheep: 60 mil
Taupo Bungy
The feeling was AWESOME. Such an adrenaline junkie right now. Meh. But no, I wasn't very brave. Check out my video on Fb.
Huka Falls! The current is extremely strong. Chances of survival if you fall into it is nearly zero.
Waimangu Volcanic Crater.
Hiked around it for about 2 hours plus?
Inferno Lake. Turquoise colored water.
Maori Village.
Apparently they paint their faces to intimidate people.
Queenstown! :)
Fox Glacier
Hang Gliding
Such a waste of 200 bucks!!!! Gah. Still couldn't get over it. Basically, you'd just have to run off the cliff and fly. Doesn't sound as interesting, mark my words on that!
Skydiving @ Lake Wanaka!
Jumped off the plane at 12000 ft above ground level. Wasn't scary at all, really. Bungy jumping was more adrenaline-pumping.
The view from our hotel room on the last day in Queenstown.
These pictures were not edited, by the way. :)
That's all for now, guys!
Merry Christmas and a Happy Happy New Year! :)
