Bridges and Boardwalks

So, you ask me: "What is there to see in Brisbane?"
And I reply: "Bridges. Lots and lots of bridges."

If you guys ever come to Brisbane I will take you on a tour of Brisbane's bridges and boardwalks.

The Brisbane City Council seems to have an obsession with bridges - there's EIGHT bridges crossing the river in the CBD area alone! Outside the CBD they are probably five or six other major bridges scattered around the place.

Here are the results of my bike ride/photo hunt for the bridges in Brisbane:

(In order from upstream to downstream)

The Go-Between Bridge:
The latest member of Brisbane's bridge obsession
I actually cramped going up this one :(

The Random Rail Bridge:
No one knows its name! (Does it even have one?)

The William Jolly Bridge:
A very happy bridge. Except in rush hour.

Kurilpa:
The random spiky bridge.
Initial reaction: "WTF!"

Victoria Bridge:
Not very interesting... but you can see the
Gotham City building in the background

Goodwill bridge:
Modern and asymmetrical.

Captain Cook Bridge:
Aye aye Captain!

The Story Bridge:
Every bridge tells a story.
I don't know what this one is.

Today was pretty much the first time I've been outside in about two weeks. The weather has been pretty terrible in Brisbane and today was the first day with fine weather since I've been back. Hope you all are having a great holiday and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year!

Tan.

PS: The Brisbane River >>>> The Yarra
