Bitter Sweet Delhi

Namastay from Delhi!!! I'd like to post photos, but the computer in the computer labs here are disseminated with viruses... and i don't have photos of myself... because.... i don't trust anyone to hold the camera and take a photo of me here (IT's DODGY HERE... SERIOUSLY)

Man it is polluted as here. Random Trivia: Delhi is the world's 4th most polluted city. I think i just lost 10% of my lungs... 1st thing you'll notice about delhi is the brown haze over the city and dust everywhere... well u gotta also distinguish it from bull/dog/goat/human shit sometimes. It gets pretty warm here... about 26C in the afternoon and cold like 6C at night. Its cold when you are staying in a brick room with no carpet and no heating...

I am staying in St. Stephen's Hospital in Old Delhi in a suburb called Tis Hazari. While people think most indians are fluent in english. Indians in Old Delhi are not. My room's pretty decent. It has three beds (woot 3???), a fridge, TV (satellite baby HBO/StarMovies heaps plus the bollywood ones too). I have my own toilet, but no shower... I use the bucket to wash myself... but they have hot water supply too thankfully. Theres also a wardrobe which i don't use... plus a study table. Its right beside the student nurse hostel. Its not a plus. Student nurses wake up at 5:30am. And how the college wakes them up is by hitting a loud gong like 12 times to wake them up... once at 5:30am and once at 7:30am and once at 10:30pm to go to bed. I get woken up everyday at 5:30am with a jolt of course.

It gets dark pretty early too since its winter here... its better to not to go out alone at night... cos most indians are dark... and its dark...and when they wear dark clothing... u get the idea... (i'm not being racist Steph)

Food here's not bad.. considering i've had vegetarian meals for 1 week and a half... its oily and all... but it taste good... they have braekfast (western/indian) and lunh and dinner (indian food only) Indian food wise... they serve (Rice/+ bread (naan, chapatti, phrata) 2 curry vege and 1 dessert (yoghurt/custard). and u have tea in the morning too. Plus i get to get bottled water anytime of the day.

I'm gonna end my post here for now... in my next post... I'll tell you guys about my experiences in the Hospital and about the few trips i had around the city...
I'm thinking of heading to Agra to see the Taj mahal this weekend... and will probably let you guys know about it too...

P.S. No, I've not had dysentery or diarrhoea or malaria or TB or dengue here... so far.. hopefully never

Till next time! Buhbye!!!
